Buying With AP saleroom

VAT Status

AP Saleroom is not currently VAT registered. No VAT is charged on our 16% Buyer’s Premium or our 2% in-house online bidding surcharge.

Bidding Options & Fees

The standard Buyer’s Premium is 16% on the hammer price. The final total depends on which bidding method you choose:

Condition & Inspection

  • Catalogue Information: We provide condition statements and additional photographs for many items. These are intended as a guide to help you assess lots.
  • Specific Enquiries: If a lot does not have a detailed report, please email info@apsaleroom.com at least 24 hours prior to the auction.
  • Buyer Responsibility: All descriptions are expressions of opinion only and do not constitute warranties. We strongly recommend personal inspection, as bids are accepted on the basis that the Buyer has satisfied themselves regarding condition and authenticity. Claims regarding forgeries or significant misdescription must be raised within 14 days of the Sale.

    • Payment Information

    Settling Your Account: Invoices are issued via email within 24 hours of the auction. Full payment is required via Bank Transfer within 72 hours of the conclusion of the Sale. Please note that we do not accept credit/debit cards, cash, or third-party payments. Title to the Lot does not pass until cleared funds are received.

    • Verification: All buyers must be registered and approved. We require valid photographic identification to be held on file. Please note: If a Passport is provided as ID, a separate proof of address is also required. We reserve the right to request source of funds information for high-value transactions.

    Collection & Shipping

  • Risk: Please note that all lots are held at the Buyer’s risk from the conclusion of the sale.
  • In-Person Collection: Room bidders may collect purchases from our porters immediately following the auction, provided payment has cleared.
  • Specialist Storage & Handling: Any items not collected on the day are transported to our partner, Sackville West. We provide seven days of complimentary storage following the auction. Thereafter, items will incur handling and weekly storage charges.

    • Shipping Services: Sackville West can assist with professional packing and dispatch. Buyers are responsible for coordinating their own shipping or collection within the standard opening hours of our storage partner.
